Advocates of marijuana legalization seem unconcerned with the safety of others on the road. They seem to feel they have a “right” to drive . . . impaired or not!
Knowing that metabolites of THC are stored in fat cells and when burning energy, they’re released into the bloodstream impacting them once again, over a period of days, weeks, even longer, their claim that users should retain their driver’s license and be able to propel vehicles down our highways, is totally non-sensical.
That all drivers should share the cost of hospitalization, repairs, etc. for their negligent use of drugs doesn’t make sense either, yet users resent and fight tooth–and-nail being held accountable for their lifestyle choices!
It only makes sense that marijuana user identity should be required to be shared with insurance companies! Why should non-users share the costs?
In fact, one insurance company (Progressive – playing both ends against the middle) even funds legalization.
