All too often in my life, I’ve opted for the wrong “choice” – for instance, placing a burr strategically under the saddle of a liberal, any liberal, when I should have been explaining to them, the ramifications of the way they think – how it flies in the face of common sense..
That approach, has not often been very productive for me. The tongue, scripture warns us, is a dangerous sword and I’d become pretty adept at its use.
A good example, is the sign I had on my car a few years back explaining that “LIBERALISM IS A MENTAL DISORDER!” That particular sign provoked a lot of “hand signals.”
I decided yesterday, to change the current sign on the back window of my car.
I also decided to remove the decal, supporting my favorite college team.
By way of explanation, I’m an Oregon Ducks fan, and the “O” with wings was displayed prominently, yet I recently married and moved to Seattle, where local residents are just as rabid supporters of (as we Duck fans call ‘em — the “Dawgs) or more respectfully, called, the University of Washington Huskies.
Yesterday, in bumper-to-bumper traffic, on I-90, when the guy behind me saw me glance in my rear-view mirror, he gave me a “hand-signal”.
It was just a “thumbs-down”, not the (IQ) middle finger, but as I thought it out, I suspected it was because he was a “Dawg” fan, not that his particular signal was because he was a liberal and resented my (what I think of as) “patriotic signs”.
Liberals often leave their “hate” showing, for all to see, when they react.
Not always, but sports fans can disagree amicably … sometimes … but I’m not confident what this guy’s motivation was, either way so I smiled and waved an acknowledgement, but I made the decision, to go for what’s more critical to our nation at this time — political commentary.
I’m not sure how I’ll phrase the new signs I’m about to put up, but the sign which now reads —“BENGHAZI: Hold Killary Accountable” is coming down …
I’m confident it can be better said … and maybe, just maybe, the overwhelming apathetic majority can be swayed … if only I can come up with a more persuasive sign.
At some point, one has to realize there are good people on both sides and “teaching” is of more import than the trivial … so now … I’m done with the sports signs … in light of our eminent loss of sovereignty, I’ve only to find a way to make people think, … past the partisan, … to the patriotic, — what is best for America!
Any suggestions?
