AMTRAK: Inept Management or Exploitation of Potential Customers?

My love, lives 300 miles from me, and it’s not easy to bear being so far away from her for so long.

So far, we’ve visited by way of Plane, train, bus, car and motorcycle.   Having recently sold my bike, it’s beginning to get too expensive ….. thus, this public complaint / suggestion.

The train is our favorite method of travel, . . . so far at least, and it’s the one we come closer to being able to afford, but rather than add another car or two onto the “Coast Starlight” and accommodate more riders and sell more tickets and meals, . . . . the more full the train gets, they just raise the price!

How much more fuel, number of employees and other variable costs would increase, to add another carful of patrons?   I understand breaking points – I owned my own business for 25 years, but now, I must travel the least expensive way practical, and it seems to me, that the management is missing a real chance to improve and enlarge their clientele.

Some of us, would rather enjoy the terrain by looking out at it from the train …. rather than down on it, from 30,000′ above.

Knowing Amtrak won’t be impacted by one single complaint, I encourage others to request they add additional cars, . . . . rather than raising the price as the seats full and end up sending potential customers to other modes of transportation.

It might just be considered economical and even patriotic!

About josiahe

Watching closely, working to understand all I may, in this "Age of Information", even from my limited view, I can see much of what's going on ..... and I oft see it's going to impact all of us which is why I share it. My focus is to expose evil, and to serve my Lord and savior Jesus in whatever way He shows me. If one waits long enough, better writers will come along and comment; it's just that I have so little patience with the evil that lurks among us and I've wasted so much time and now, there is so little left! WELCOME!
