With the technology of drones, criminal acts can be limited, … because once this is in place and known, perps will have to realize it’s likely they will be caught and prosecuted. But is it the panacea some tout it to be?
One has to wonder, 1st, if this technology is already being used, and if it is, why did it take the authorities so long to capture the Tsarnaev brothers and 2nd, if people understand the potential crime fighting and anti-terrorism potential, will they continue to oppose the use of surveillance of the drones ….
Invasive surveillance is resented, and ultimately, the government is not trusted (the IRS has just proved that with their recent abuse), so, the question is not only, …should this technology even be in place, but are other entities any less likely to be corrupt than the amoral IRS employees — in other words, can men be trusted to not use this unethically?
Problem: we have proved that power corrupts! So ….. do we just deal with it or just ignore it? Obviously, laws will not suffice to thwart abuses. It’s not just the Obama Administration …… it’s all Liberals; they think they know what is best for us and it’s them that CANNOT be trusted!
Radio controlled hobbyists are aware of a myriad of pending legislation regulating against their own potential “watching” … when they just want to fly their planes and helicopters.
