It took long enough!
Recently reported by Yahoo/Reuters News Service, (see below) … serving Obama’s policy of not admitting terrorism is still active, the Army recently, formally declined the awarding of Purple Hearts for the shooting victims of Major Nidal Hisan’s shooting at Fort Hood. Their reasoning was that the move would damage Hisan’s ability to receive a fair trial (court martial) this coming July.
Hasan, 42, killing 13 and wounding 32, opened fire on a group of soldiers who were preparing for deployment to Afghanistan, before he was shot and permanently paralyzed by two civilian Fort Hood police officers, one of whom it was revealed was laid off.
The Army formalized its ongoing opposition to awarding the Purple Hearts in a position paper responding to language (inserted in the Defense Authorization Bill, proving once again Congress is complicit and needs to be replaced), which would require the Secretary of the Army to award the medal.
