As all is crumbling around us; there’s few lessons as obvious as advertising – our desires delineate where our hearts lay …… as God’s prophets told us and shows us …. where we spend our time, shows us who we are.
The latest example is an advertisement I’ve seen on a sports channel several times this last week – a beautiful, sleek, bright red, fast Scion FR-S (a sports-car), is shown powering through the forest, … wheels spinning, sliding around dangerous turns, … on wet pavement. Or, could it be the adornment of our bodies with multiple tattoos …..
A few decades back, what is now common, was reviled; ads which sold cars to our youth in this manor, were rejected and taken off the air …… To whom do these things appeal? Things which “screamed – LOOK AT ME” were seen as shallow!
Is this what we want for our beloved children? Have we forgotten the consequences of our actions and even our desires, …. or are we just ignoring them?
We played the flute for you
