Remembering Obama’s promise that electricity prices are going to “SKYROCKET”?
Can someone explain to me why the “push” for electric cars?
- They must be recharged …. and if electricity is going to “Skyrocket” ……
- Plus, there are not sufficient charging stations and what does it cost to charge them?
- They’re subsidized by the government, … to the point where the actual cost of building the Chevy Volt cost at least $300,000 each.
What? How much? Can that be correct? Take a look here. http://hotair.com/archives/2011/12/21/govt-subsidies-for-chevy-volt-up-to-250000-per-car.
That cost will come down they promise, as more are made ….. Or should that be “IF” more are made! For now, …… the $300,000 is based on only 9,000 manufactured.
No word yet on what it costs to recharge the batteries, but from what I hear at this point, to replace the battery pack once it goes bad, or has a problem, … is more expensive than the car itself!
Maybe the Volt should have been named “SOLINDRA”; it’s sure to be denigrated by the public which will resent the subsidy ….. right? Or is there a disconnect here from reality as there seems to be throughout D.C.?
Obviously, the car has been designed to appeal to LEMMINGS, preparing to drive off the Fiscal Cliff en mass!
