HOW DID WE GET HERE?

Back half a century ago, in January of 1961, then President Eisenhower, warned the nation a bit different than he’d once done before.  That time, he was giving us a warning about the future of our Military-Industrial-Complex and that was exceptional, in light of his broad military and political experience.    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8y06NSBBRtY

The warning was justified, especially when one considers this warning, was from a former 5 Star General.   Many have reminded us of that warning, through the years, but as the Allies divided up the middle-east after WWII, China became a threat in Korea, and (the Cold War) Communism developed as a significant world-wide threat, and it turns out that  developing a strong military turned out to be a good thing.

He’d given us a warning once before …..   That warning, is even more timely today … that’s because the same thing is threatening the peace of the entire world again today.  

Back then, in 1945, when he / his army, began to free those alive in the death camps, he (Ike) insisted on documenting what is now denied – exactly as he said it would be denied if not documented, .…. the mass murder of 6 million Jews, and other hated minorities, Gypsies, Gays, etc.

Or another aspect, from a year and a half ago, with an even wider perspective, but is it entirely accurate?   I believe it goes wrong, about 4/5^ths of the way through (13 minutes in), where it states just the opposite of what our president Obama, has just recommended!   The issue that disproves it, is Sequestration!

Is the U.S. government’s goal, is “regime change”?   Certainly Obama bought into it but in a different way, which too has created a problem all around the world!   It certainly has not worked to our favor …. at least, with the Arab Spring, though Obama’s support and attempts to apologize and be friends can certainly be judged to have failed!  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AyBelJ85KfY&feature=related  Those who oppose him and see the dangers of terrorism, say his tactic is showing weakness and fear.

Still, as we’ve watched history proceed until today, Eisenhower didn’t see what another danger that our system would morph into ….. what I call the congressional-Investment-Complex.

A good example – Fannie Mae, and Freddie Mac (at the manipulation of Congressman Barney Frank and Chris Dodd) and don’t forget the outside pressure from a little-known Community Organizer, now president who also pressured the banks to give low (SUB-PRIME) loans to people who could not afford them, …. he now blames “predatory loans from banks,” but he’s now made 5 of them, TOO BIG TO FAIL!   And those who, under pressure, have had to resign, have taken a hop-skip-and a  jump, (with their “golden parachutes”, … right into high paying jobs with lobbying, law and banking firms.

It’s how they keep their high paying incomes ….. rewarding each other, once they’re out of the public eye.   It’s how they continue to exert their power in the D.C. shell games!
