Professional Football’s secret is out of the shadows!
America’s had a mirror put up in front of itself and it’s way past time!
Greg Buttle’s charges, exposing the criminal actions of the New Orleans Managerial staff and even the Saint’s players, intentionally injuring “professional football players”, . . . the Saint’s giving rewards for physically injuring opposition players, so badly they’re taken out of the game . . . . will it change anything?
Probably not; it should, but obviously rabid fans have hidden their lust for violence and have burried it in “team loyalty”, it’d be next to impossible to stop it w/o also taking it down into college and even high-school sports. The perks are just too great. Yet, there are people who longed for this to be exposed because they’ve lost their careers and millions of dollars of potential salaries lost!
I believe that American’s history of consistently rooting for the underdog has always been a remnant of righteousness, yet through competition. Now, we must face not only the fact that, . . . what we thought may exist, . . . . . that it actually does.
The anti-sports people have a point. Like it or not, the NFL is violence glorified! It’s GLADIATORS, on the field of competiton, and careers are ended, sometimes, with a single blow. To have dreams crushed can be heart-breaking at any level.
Will America boycott NFL games? Probably not . . . . what would we do instead? Plant a garden? Pay more attention to our children? To our wives? Sorry, but not the typical American macho male!!!!!
And Greg Buttle? Will he be shunned? Probably, . . . but certainly not by players (and the families) who’ve suffered a career-ending injury after all their hard work and dreams have been crushed!
But will NFL Commissional Goodall do anything about it is the question, and does this same attitude exist on other teams?
Or is it just a wink and a nod, . . . a subtle smile or slap-on-the-butt in the locker room? All Americans, competitors or not, need to look inside, and do it honestly, for once! Once again, God’s mirrors penetrate deep.
