I hate to admit I watch too much collegiate football. Whenever my favorite team is playing I’m in front of the boob tube, but there are teams that don’t excite me. One of those teams ….. the only one I root against is Notre Dame. It’s a Catholic University.
Whenever I see them playing, I root for their opponent, and I think my reason is a good one. I remember all too vividly, Alan Keyes and others (albeit all too few) protesting the fact that N/D invited a staunch pro-abortion president to speak at their graduation celebration.
A Catholic University that doesn’t take a stand against Abortion? What was behind that? Though I love the inspirational movie Rudy, I now only get frustrated when I see it or the team playing.
I ask you to join me, praying for their opponents to win …. no matter who it is.
It may seem trivial, but it’s never trivial to pray that those who couldn’t see the unrighteous acts like this for what they are. Please pray that the students and administration would recognize the evil of this president and if it takes something as trivial as sports, so be it. These days are becoming more evil daily; get off the fence!
