Before beginning, let me give you the background of Eugene, Oregon: As I stated in my previous article, Eugene’s an old drug-infested, hippie town, an amoral, isolated enclave of extreme liberal permissiveness, … solidly entrenched in the 1960′s, home of political correctness, communism, rebellion and anarchy …. a city, severely run amok . . . make no mistake about it Eugene’s about the farthest one can get from mainstream America!
A few weekends ago, a liberal friend, described Eugene a bit differently. She said “Eugene’s a city looking for a cause to be angry about!”
That said, … every Monday at 5pm to 5:30 pm a group of leftist women gather to protest war on Eugene’s main thoroughfare, E. 6th street.
In and of itself, they seem like good people who maybe desire too much attention, and yet one must ask, ‘who doesn’t disapprove of war?’
But, there’s something amiss here. They’re there to propagandize? What they want is NOT PEACE FOR All . . . just for those they support.
In an attempt to confirm the Register Guard article that stated they support the FLOTILLA, when I talked to them, I found out, they do support the Palestinian Authority (most all of whom are terrorists). They also admitted they support the “Flotilla“, which has been verified to have been smuggling weapons into Gaza (against a legal naval blockade) and the videos of the Flotilla prove the Israeli forces were attacked unprovoked.
Today, as I protested their so obvious hypocrisy, just across the street from them, … a young man approached me and wanted to tell me a “story”.
He said he’d listen to me as well, so I listened. He praised the Women-In-Black and their cause, but when I mentioned they supported the Palestinian Authority, he cut me off by saying he “knew and was a friend of Rachael Corrie” – expecting me to not know who she was ….. he began to tell me about her — well, at least the Palestinian and leftist version.
I know of her; I’ve read both sides! Rachael’s death wish was nothing more than tragic, and it’s even more-so that these leftists attempt to exploit it!
If you’ll read objectively about Rachael, you’ll find what she did was more than sad; it was tragically ridiculous! This young man explained he was a Jew, … as if any Jew should support what Rachael did – – – I DO NOT!
When I began to tell him about their (Women in Black) supporting the Flotilla, he shrugged a shoulder and flippantly stated: “One man’s Terrorist, … is another man’s Freedom Fighter”, and walked away – w/o listening to me, as he’d promised.
It didn’t surprise me that he didn’t hold to his promise – nothing unusual at all, … not for a leftist.
It’s not unusual, that they have a consistent lack of integrity and wish only to explain to others, how unintelligently bigoted they are …..
But it continues to plague me, … “what does one call a Jew who hates his own people? Who is not fully cognizant of the hate toward his own people over the eons, … or is he just one whom doesn’t care? … about what they’ve / er, we’ve gone through? ….. the fact that they are surrounded by former friends of Hitler? ….. by Arabs who want to kill all Jews?
For me, … it’s real disconcerting to encounter those who are so far left, that they hate even their own!
My open letter to the WOMEN IN BLACK:
The blindness you exhibit … the level of your hypocrisy is astounding! One cannot say one is for peace and support Hamas, Hezbullah and the Palestinian Authority.
Actually, one can say anything, but know that someday we will all be held accountable for what we stand for — even when we are only fooling ourselves. A lie of omission is still a lie!
I will be back to the corner across from you, and I will again hold my sign exposing your hypocrisy. Your supporting those who bomb buses of children, and continue to send rockets indiscriminately, into Israel …. killing civilians ….. THAT’S NOT PEACE!
For those of us who love Israel (not that we support everything the government does), …. I take you, … Women-in Black, as one whom facilitates murder! Just like my sign says: “WOMEN in BLACK SUPPORT TERRORISM!”
