It’s the leftists, the hate-America First crowd that usually makes this charge, but now it’s given credence by the act of assassinating Al Qaeda leader Anwar al-Awlaki. Assassination is a long-accepted method of terrorists.
Now, the U.S. citizen, as he was not stripped of his citizenship first, and obviously has been denied “Due Process” (5th Amendment) as promised by our constitution (Section 3 of Article 3), has been assassinated. Even though I find it disconcerting to agree with Alan Colmes, talk show host, and disagree with almost all our political leaders, I happen to agree with Colmes here. He should have been captured, and brought home for trial or at the very least he should have been stripped of his citizenship and then killed in a military action.
The truth is though, we have not bothered to declare war, …. as we should have, but that’s not the most disturbing part. Our commander-in-chief, (of whom I am no fan) put out a “capture or kill” order on an American citizen. This is illegal, but more importantly, as I mentioned in an earlier article, because he has now caused the killing of a Muslim he is to have a price on his head.
