As if it’s “news”, the media published a “revelation” – that it’s true that people die of a broken heart.
Well, DUH!
When Jesus was pierced with the spear, scripture tells us that both blood AND water, … flowed out of the wound.
From that, it’s obvious that the spear went deep enough that the pericardium, the membrane around the heart, was also pierced.
It’s well known that water collects around the heart when one is depressed or stressed. It’s no revelation; doctors / the medical community, have known this, for centuries.
Scripture also tells us that Jesus was a “MAN OF SORROWS” ….. another way of saying that he grieved for the human condition, as one does when one encounters the depressing plight of a loved one ….. That’s what I’ve felt, once I began sincerely praying for God to make me more like Jesus. I’d not expected that … What’s surprising too, … a real conundrum, … is that there’s also an inner joy within me, even as I grieve for man’s plight, for I know where HOME is … where I’m headed.
Reminds me to mention Occam’s Razor: “the simplest explanation is most likely the correct one.”
It all makes sense, doesn’t it?
