Obviously Glenn doesn’t fish …… And even if he were a fisherman, … if he even visited fishing villages, or major ports, … he’d know better than to dismiss what’s right in the face of the fishing industry!
Don’t get me wrong. I am a G/B fan and believe most of what he says ….. For most things he presents facts, but sometimes, having discredited the radical environmental speakers, and knowing they’re nuts, I believe he assumes their other facts must also be wrong.
Like it or not, the fishing industry is dying! It’s not just that it’s changed – that technology and mechanization have changed it, nor is it the environmental problems. In fact, it’s all of the above – it is the technology to catch, process and freeze millions of tons of fish per day, even while at sea.
Some fish are even hunted by plane. Our technology is astounding. The seas are being stripped of fish at an alarming rate even though our nation has extended its territorial boundaries to help American Industry providing our food supplies. It doesn’t take looking at the jobs lost, the fishing boats for sale, but it would be wise to understand what is going on, and why and not just dismiss the obvious facts.
Granted government control, or rather their attempt at control is also inept and their guesses at the amount caught by the sport-fishing enthusiasts are just that – GUESSES!
And the jobs of those employed to control the fisheries are dependant upon their successes, but mankind’s understanding of how God’s design is all interconnect always falls short!
Whether it’s volcanic, weather, changes in currents, or manmade, like the dead zones, the fertilizers and other chemicals dumped into the oceans, our globe undergoes changes: cyclical and at times, catastrophic changes; it won’t take much to put us into a horrible downward spiral from which we cannot recover. It’s happened before and history does repeat itself ……
Glenn can laugh at of the Al Gore’s and the scientists he’s convinced, but the problem is that now, our globe is supporting close to the maximum population possible.
Fish, and their residence / their environment, the waters of the earth, cannot survive major catastrophic changes and continue produce enough food nor can we continue to count on it remaining a healthy environment. Wars and other political moves come from lack of food ….. and …… those who’ve read the end of the book have a step up on those who’ve not!
