U of OREGON – DERISION OF BLOGGING

Charles Krauthammer is an exceptional journalist and commentator, one McKivor should emulate.

University of Oregon’s June 20th edition of (The Daily Emerald) contains a column whose writer, I believe, is guilty of conflict of interests.
Giving him the benefit of the doubt, at best, he’s been duped by myopic professors; maybe one should not pick on college age students but the know-it-all and “we-know-more-than-our-elders” attitudes are, at best, somewhat repugnant.
The crux of the column by Ian McKivor is that he warns readers to be wary of what they read online.
Although that’s true, that is no different online or in a newspaper; problem is, he is targeting online blogs, while crediting the most questionable and it’s the online blogs that have replaced journalism of old!
I suspect that McKivor is a journalism student who is attempting to be protective of a dying industry, one in which he hopes to establish his future career, no doubt motivation has come from the university’s leftist professors who see the writing on the wall.
In his second paragraph he flatly states that “people are idiots, ….”   That’s nothing new from the world of the elitist’s ivory towers.   He goes on from there to state …. “and people who read blogs and take their word for it are dangerous idiots.”
As a blogger myself, I can at least state: NAME CALLING: a good way to begin!
The world of blogging has come about, expressly because of the across-the-board failure of journalism.   Journalists have turned from being the watchdogs of freedom, to … (as long as we’re name calling) being traitorous propagandists of the left – charter members of the Hate-America-First club, out to destroy America as a super-power.
At a time when our nation is under siege by progressives who want to transform America, and naive idealists, following nihilistic leaders, who’ve only done rabble-rousing (aka: community organizing) please let me state that “it’s the journalists which are the dangerous ones, as virtually every tea partier will tell you!”
As an example of the duplicitous nature of the left, please note the organization of Journa-Lists who conspired daily, about how to do attack the political center and right, masquerading as journalists, when they were actually revolutionaries drawing pay as journalists —- the, “I thought I wanted a career.   What I found I wanted, was a paycheck.”, crowd.
As McKivor writes about the so-called “Arab Spring, he avoids the overall perspective – the big picture, by pointing out (I suspect a leftist) a blogger who lied …. claiming they’re dangerous?   He makes mention of “credible organizations” …. all extreme Leftists, such as “New York Times, CNN, MSNBC, and AP).
Ian!   You listening?   You reading?   You might want to pick another profession ….. one where good character was once required, and character assassination is not the norm!   Your version of “GOOD NEWS” (quoting him) …. is severely skewed.
Ian can be reached via email at the University of Oregon’s newspaper.

About josiahe

Watching closely, working to understand all I may, in this "Age of Information", even from my limited view, I can see much of what's going on ..... and I oft see it's going to impact all of us which is why I share it. My focus is to expose evil, and to serve my Lord and savior Jesus in whatever way He shows me. If one waits long enough, better writers will come along and comment; it's just that I have so little patience with the evil that lurks among us and I've wasted so much time and now, there is so little left! WELCOME!
