Today, the average THC content of pot smoked in the Netherlands, is 18%.
Obviously, the rise in emergency room visits and crime, is now causing concern among Holland’s populace.
Albeit, in spite of the claims by the legalizers who claim that the Netherland’s policy of liberalizing pot use is of no worry, and is working well there, the Garretsen-committee stated that pot with more than a 15% THC content should fall under the heading of “hard drugs.”
The research into the weed and hash was done at the request of the previous Dutch government.
Further, the committee advises that the “successful” approach of coffee shops, is worth following as a fear is spreading that this liberal / permissive acceptance, will lead to an increase in street sales, but of course, that is denied by the pro-pot lobby.
