“The president does not have power under the Constitution to unilaterally authorize an attack in a situation that does not involve stopping an actual or imminent threat to the nation.” Barak Obama, Dec. 20, 2007
When explaining our presence in Libya, Obama said that our forces are involved in a limited and well-defined mission in support of international efforts” …..
Internation affairs? Admitting that, in and of itself, puts him in violation of the War Powers Act!
Also, if it’s in support of international …. Who? And then, why us?
Italy and France get oil from Libya …. We get little! Either we are there on false pretenses (supporting Italy and France) or we are the “cops of the world”. Our people don’t want us to be the cops of the world! Or if they do, then why are we not in more than 135 nations?
Once again, the president’s rhetoric is predicated on lies and misinformation.
He also said that our actions are in compliance with the War Powers Act of the Constitution! They’re not!
Obviously, he feared there’d possibly be outrage, and he didn’t want to have to face a news conference and lie!
Usually, in a case like this, … if with a Republican president, there be protesters in the streets – almost always they would be from the anti-war left but they’re nowhere to be found. Why?
- He is in violation of the War Powers Act! He went out of his way to assure the people and Congress that we are not at war with Libya, but we are and his denial clarifies zilch!
- We are leading this war!
- He said we are not in control!
- Then, in the next breath, he promised we’ll hand over control, in the near future.
- How can we hand over control that we do not have?
OBAMA NEEDS TO BE IMPEACHED AND ALL THOSE IN CONGRESS WHO WILL NOT BRING FORTH THE PROCEEDINGS, ARE TRAITORS!
