As the Middle East becomes increasingly unstable, one can state only the following, with certainty!
While no one can say with certainty what the future will bring to the radically altered Middle Eastern political landscape, it’s becoming increasingly apparent that US influence over events here will be dramatically changed as well as diminished. The US financial precariousness only complicates it!
Even in Israel, the U.S., once seen as a strong, powerful, beneficent ally / leader / partner, has now become a duplicitous influence and is now seen as an imperceptible, unseen, wisp of smoke blowing in new directions with each new wind!
Is this the correct picture? In the midst of this upheaval, the U.S. seems to have no logical, coherent policies ….. or does it? Couldn’t the lack of one, actually …….
At the same time, it’s said by some, that we’re manipulating potential enemies and friends alike with behind-the-scene actions which contradict our (formerly) long-established policies.
Re: Israel, the U.S. is intent upon establishing a 2-state solution, whether it could potentially bring about peace and stability or not!
With the new rejection of old bed-partners who’d solidified the post-WWII Middle East, even if only with stand-offs, Caroline Glick, of the Jerusalem Post correctly stated: “By adopting a policy it openly hated and then condemning its own behavior, the US essentially told Israel, America is not a credible partner.” That though, may not be fair; our sleeping with evil dictators, needed to be ended; it’s the ‘how-to’ that was the hard part.
It’s apparent the US has radically changed direction under Obama. The exception of that though, seems to be with Israel.
There is no justification for the U.S. attempting to prohibit their building, nor our interference in their other internal decisions, especially when it’s not based on any perceptible version of international law!
To continue to do so, may be the antithesis of “nation building” and though denied, “nation building” (our long-standing, unofficial policy) has now been given over entirely to the leftist State Department, radical revolutionary organizations, and mega-wealthy, mega-manipulator, Soros types, an unholy alliance if ever there was one, all done, …. as if they know best! They certainly don’t ….. and especially, … not for us!
With this lack of leadership, (or is it only “concealed”?) these nations can easily descend back into the caliphate vs. Crusader mentality and plunge the entire world, once again, into world war!
What’s unseen is that the caliphate has as it’s number 1 enemy, to be destroyed first, ….. is us …. the US!
