The city of Berkeley, rather its’ city council, has again exhibited a deepseated need to be seen as compassionate(?) or is it totally insane?
What was put forth to be voted on was asking the federal officials to allow those captured on the battlefields of Afghanistan to be released and allowed to live in the city of Berkeley.
It was not a close vote, which says something positive about the Bay area radical town … it failed 4 to 1, with four abstentions.
Two other U.S. cities, both filled with more idiots than Berkeley, evidently, have approved a similar measure — Leverett, and Amherst, Massachusetts. One finds oneself curious as to what would happen if the detainees were released to live there, but I couldn’t wish that on anyone.
