In Egypt alone, so many unseen political, cultural, and social forces are working behind the scene, all attempting to topple a brutal dictator ….. in times of chaos what happens so often, is the most organized, the most committed, those willing to die for their struggle, it’s them, who will win out.
In Egypt, those include, the Marxists struggling against Mabarak. So are the many different factions of Muslim Brotherhood, …. as are the young and idealistic, and the Christians, but it’s the first two groups that are the most committed!
Both those groups are dangerous to America, … to Israel, … to all the middle east, … to the Egyptians themselves. It may seem that the youthful and idealistic win, but as things gel and take form, it’s a dangerous proposition, …. which is probably why President Obama, hesitated so long. The Muslim Brotherhood are Islamic Jihadists – one faction of that group assassinated Sadat, a 1/3rd of a century ago …..
Obama, having the following of the youth and idealistic in this nation, to continue to support Mabarak, was a mistake, a BIG MISTAKE! That’s what a lack of leadership, and trying to please everyone comes to though.
Obama tried to correct that today by flip-flopping again. He should have stood for Freedom if he wanted to be seen as a Centrist. He should have stood for Freedom if he wanted to keep his base of support ……
How can that be, you ask? Those two groops are diametrically opposed!
It’s simple; the U.S. should not have been in bed with such a brutal dictator. It was a big mistake ….. looking all the way back, it came from the days of Wilson and FDR …… I’m not pointing fingers at the Democraps any more than I am at the Republicants. Both sides used and abused.
In fact, if one goes back and looks objectively, after WWII, the entire region was divided up in such a way so as to keep families, tribes, cultures, and religions all at each other’s throats.
We never really had a way out of this …. not one of righteousness anyway.
Now, we can only hope and pray that things will come out in such a way as to render hope and change …… Then again, it’s too late for that; the Egyptians favor Hamas, Hezbullah, the Jihadists, etc.
DON’T ASK ME TO HOPE ……, I’ve read the end of the book.
