If president Obama was truly inovative, ….. if he really wanted America to compete on the world market, …. and be prepared for new hi-tech jobs, as he says, …. he needs to begin, thinking, out of the box.
There’s no need to go to College, especially with its’ exorbitant costs, and go into deep debt paying it off, for decades! College ought to be brought to the people! We now have the technology to bring interactive educational classes into the home where every American could learn not only what he / she wants, but the students would be presented with the highest caliber of education …..
Other nations, even 3rd world nations are doing this already. Would Gatt and NAFTA, the sending of America’s jobs overseas have been wise? Would not 3rd world nations not pull themselves up by their own bootstraps? Is that not the optimum anyway – where people have or gain self-respect because they did it by their own efforts?
Our technology now facilitates staying at home to work, …. why not go to school when one is home, ….. or, recording classes to view later, when the children are safely tucked away in bed, ….. the options are unlimited, but the Educational System will most likely, fight it.
We have an incredibly talented scholarly cadre / framework of teachers ….. at our most prestigeous schools and across the nation and the best of the best could teach all of America, and maybe, along with local professors for individual assistance?
Is there not a way to bring a superior education, to every student who wants it? Foreign students who come to America for their education, could pay the government for their schooling instead of the universities ….. or they could not come.
Think of the stimulus to our economy if all student loans were forgiven …. how people would spend the money ….. E-Books for students, linking them with computers ….. the possibilities are endless!
Yes; it would radically change things, but inovation is required to keep up ….. to stay competitive!
