I'm the authority here .... I direct the local nanny state and it's we who are to take care of you; I'm telling you it's the political rhetoric!
For those of us who thought that the Tucson area, (Pima County) Sheriff’s tirade blaming the inflammatory rhetoric, ….. for the shooting, and calling for toning down the inflammatory rhetoric was possibly a CYA moment, now it’s beginning to look more and more, like it was!
Just reported, prior to 9am on Wed. Jan. 12th, it’s been found that Jared Loughner had been stopped for a traffic violation, the morning of the shooting!
Though it was not the county sheriff’s office, had the officers, when they ran his name and discovered that he had a history of drug use, arrest(s?) for drug paraphernalia, ….. for erratic disruptive behavior, had they searched the vehicle he was driving, when he ran a red light, they might have found the gun, and …… who knows ….. Where had he been that morning? In the desert shooting, prior to the assault?
Would the officers have seen that the fact that he was significantly “disturbed”? Surely, officials had already missed it during the incidents at the college!
That Sheriff Dupnik, went into his tirade, but ….. he didn’t “DUPE” many by his actions! It looks to me, like it was an attempt to deflect any potential criticism! The sheriff not only looked INEPT, his tirade was very unprofessional and he should resign.
