Until America is ready to go to war, I want out of Afghanistan ….. (make no mistake, though our boys are dying there, we’re not at war, in Afghanistan, … not with these leaders (political and military), … not the way it’s being fought.)
The following excerpt is from yesterday’s NYTimes. Please note the red texts below.
“The ninth anniversary of the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, was marked on Saturday by the memorials and prayer services of the past, but also by events hard to envision just a year ago — heated demonstrations blocks from ground zero, political and religious tensions and an unmistakable sense that a once-unifying day was now replete with division.
The names of nearly 3,000 victims were read under crisp blue skies in Lower Manhattan after the bells of the city’s houses of worship tolled at the exact moment — 8:46 a.m. — that the first plane struck the north tower of the World Trade Center. At the Pentagon, President Obama called for tolerance and said, “As Americans we are not — and never will be — at war with Islam.””
I wonder, …. why we’re not at war with Islam!
If America is to be moral and consistent, I believe, we should be at war with Islam! America needs to get off the fence! Americans have never been reticent about giving their lives to free others.
Islam’s holy book authorizes slavery; it instructs that:
- it’s OK to enslave women.
- it is OK to beat wives
- is ok to “sell” their daughters into “marriage” (sexual slavery)! (Men can marry a child at the age of 1 and consummate the marriage at the age of 9!)
- Men can get a divorce but women cannot
- Women cannot be educated
- It’s ok to kill Jews and other “infidels” – – – (case in point: Daniel Pearl’s beheading!)
Muslims would need to face whether they [this insandly-angry people] believe in what their “holy” book teaches or …… and I hope it’s “NOT”; most do.
I could continue, …… you get my point. For me, there’s no middle ground; it’s either war or isolationism!
For now, …. at this particular moment, (still solidly standing by Israel) I’d chose isolationism and live with the consequences …… It’s not an easy choice and I realize. Being old (and knowing that it’s young men that fight wars) it’d be easy for me, to change my mind. I do every time I discover another barbaric practice of Islam! And though I’m old, …… I’ll volunteer, …… not that this Muslim “leader” of ours, will take us up on it.
