President Obama, at a town-hall meeting in the thriving metropolis of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, (outside Albuquerque), stated the obvious . . . . . well, the obvious to others anyway!
Calling current spending “unsustainable”, . . . and warning of skyrocketing interest rates for consumers if the U.S. continues to finance government by borrowing from other countries, . . . . the president . . . . . .
He even admitted “that means we are mortgaging our children’s future with more and more debt.”
Whoa! What’s going on here?
Are these just words? Or has he stopped fast-tracking “Cap and Trade” and “Universal Health Care”?
Has he decided to cut entitlement programs or replace money previously looted from Social Security and Medicare by Congress?
He went on, “It’s time for reform that’s built on transparency, accountability, and mutual responsibility, values fundamental to the new foundation we seek to build for our economy.”
Sounds like all the right words, . . . . (again) but is anything changing? Or is it just that he’s noticing the base of his 512′ high pedistal beginning to crack and crumble?
Calling for Congress to clamp down on ridiculous and exploitive credit card interest rates, . . . . one consumer noted ‘that barn door’s still not closed and the horses are now running free in Equador . . . . maybe they’re hoping for ‘change’ and that they’ll return on their own? Fat chance!’
Two weeks ago, the president announced a proposal to cut $17 Billion, reducing 121 federal programs, but . . . . (yes; there’s a “but”) in the same breathe he announced he’s seeking $81 Billion in other spending. Let’s see + 17 and – 81 … That’s still a negative, . . . . isn’t it? But it’s only BILLION$.
One exceptionally astute lady, shopping in liberal Eugene’s local mall (Valley River Center), commented, ‘Thank goodnes he’s saving us money!’
Rejecting blame, the pres, commented “We have been complicit in these problems; we have to change how we operate. These practices have only grown worse in the midst of this recession.”
Ooooops! “RECESSION”?
Our auto industry is failing and you call it a recession?
Then, quit looking for the pinion gear, quit digging and get the blazes out of the damn hole!
