Did I miss it? Was Jan. 24th, one of the rare days that I didn’t follow the news? Surely, this story didn’t die that quickly, did it? Could have, if the media wanted it to!
The University of Chicago paid the wife of an Illinois Senator $317,000 for a part-time job – for running “programs for community relations, neighborhood outreach, volunteer recruitment, staff diversity and minority contracting”.
This was what her husband had done, before his election, right? And it was something the Medical Center needed still, right?
That’s nearly twice what her husband made when he was serving as Senator – both places – Springfield, AND D.C.
IT’S MORE THAN HE MAKES NOW – AS PRESIDENT!
And all this was just before he, as an Illinois Senator, requested a $1 million earmark for the University of Chicago Medical Center?
What? Did you think it was all idealism and altruism, . . . . just because it was inside academia?
