When I grew up, the media was relatively dependable and investigative journalism was evident; the people depended on it! Oh, there were people like Randolph Herst, who was building his media empire, but by-in-large, the media had not sold out, like they have now. Now; fluff TV news is replacing even the dying newspapers.
Take for instance, the conspiracy mindset . . . . Evident in the Kennedy assassination flap, notable, and supposedly respectable and reliable people were appointed to Commissions set up to dispel the rumors, as the public began to doubt the ‘truth’ which was coming out of the media.
Then came people, we sometimes label as ‘whistle-blowers’, pointing out things the public would not likely know . . . . also, there were politically astute people who were knowledgeable and just could not put up with the lies, misrepresentations and misinformation any longer. They too began to point out the corruption and connect the dots for us – for instance the non-coincidence of groups like the Council on Foreigh Relations (CFR), and Skull & Bones, and many other groups. Or, recently, Senator Dodd’s wife being part of AIG.
The numbers of people that belonged to these groups who became presidents, was way beyond the potential of it being coincidental . . . . Still skeptical of the “Birchers diatribe”, I began to listen; I’d learned full well back in college in the late 60’s that to find and discern the truth, one absolutely had to read both sides! I kept it in the back of my mind; now, I expect, what they predicted, rather than doubt. A Global currency, a Global Government is all but here!
Back in the 60’s both (perceived) sides of the political spectrum had developed lying to an art; ‘spinning’ . . . . ‘attack dogs’, are new but related phenomena.
Then America began looking for “outsiders” . . . . Fooled once, by Jimmy Carter, the most inept president ever, he was, in ways, still, an insider.
Now, we have Alfred E. NewBama and one can look at his administration and judge that if he was at one time, an outsider, he is no longer! That’s evident by his appointments – and not just their failures to obey the law, it’s actions like appointing people who are enemies of Israel to be America’s envoys to the Middle East and all the friends of Bill and Hillary.
There’re lots of dots to connect ane w/o the computer we’d have no chance to keep up. When the net fails, we need to know something is going on and that you cannot count on the media!
Following the money trail was one first learned of, by the public. Those dots are what has made the American people to become skeptics and cynics.
